Put On Your Dancin' Boots

Do you know how to vine, twinkle, shuffle, sway, strut, triple in place, scuff, hitch? Can you do the jazz box, the sugar foot, lock steps, the reverse box, the scissors and the coaster step? Well, neither could I until a few months ago when Dillard and I decided to take line dancing classes. What fun it has been for us! We've learned sixteen dances and have graduated to the intermediate class! Can you believe these two "old folks" are dancing? In the process we've learned to do the Charleston, waltz, cha cha, and stroll "country/western style." It's great physical and mental exercise. Our class is often asked to do demonstration dances for special functions in our town. We haven't participated yet, but if we can keep our minds and feet working together we may be brave enough to join in soon. After all -- who can resist doing the Watermelon Crawl?

The One Who Satisfies

Just wanted to share my thoughts of God with you.

THE ONE WHO SATISFIES

O Lord, you are the love of my life.

You are a beautiful stream in a barren desert;
You refresh my soul.

You are a shinning star on a dark night;
You light up my life.

You are peace in the middle of tragedy;
You bring rest to my weary thoughts.

You are the sound of birds in springtime;
You fill me with song.

You are the breeze on a warm summer day;
You fill me with life.

You are the rustle of golden leaves in autumn;
You open my ears and eyes to your beauty.

You are falling snow on a winter evening;
You bring serenity to my entire being.

O Lord, you are the love of my life.

You are Alpha and Omega;
The first and the last...
The beginning and the end...

You are the great “I AM.”
You are worthy of praise.

You are the love of my life.

Mother's Day 2008

I hope you mothers had a special day. Since our family is scattered I expected to be "childless" this Mother's Day. Wendy surprised us by showing up at our house Friday evening. What fun to have her here! She and I spent all Saturday afternoon doing our favorite thing, shopping. Today we included her dad as we attended church and went out to eat. I also heard from our other three children through phone calls, cards, and gifts. It was a great weekend.
